Stumbled across this site. Custom made stuff tends to get cheesy, but this is pretty cool!

David, you know where I’m going with this.

Translation: Norwegian bokkilden.no offers 20 kr per book/dvd review you write, provided it gets published.

I was looking through my old pictures, and rediscovered this one. I took this picture when I went to Sweden with Brit and David, and these ducks were amazing. As you probably know, this is a couple of mallards. The male is in the back, with his beautiful colours. This couple was walking along, like this, around the whole area. Female leading the way, male following her wherever. We laughed, it was so adorable.

Warning: If you’re no fan of lovey-dovey, girly, cliché blog posts, then maybe you’ll be interested in reading about Strange creatures of the sea or Female serial killers through history?

Meet Mr. David Bear. Mr Bear is a 15 cm tall teddybear in a kilt. He was created by Keel Toys, and given to me about two and a half years ago. You can’t really see it, but his bagpipe has a huge hole in it, because of, well, too much love.
One late evening autumn 2007, I stood at the airport with my heart stuck in my throat. I was waiting for David, whom I had known online for about a year in a game we were both playing. He had managed to convince me we should meet, and before I knew it I was standing in the arrival-area in the airport. At this point, I had no faith in the fact that he would actually like me in real life. One thing is getting along when we’re pretending to be someone else in an mmorpg, it is entirely different to get along when we are ourselves. We had of course exchanged pictures, and he had phoned me a few times. I thought he was waaaaay out of my league, and I found myself in a bit of a strange situation. I didn’t play games to meet guys (although girls playing games seem to interest a good few geeky teenagers), and I certainly had not planned on meeting any of my friends in real life. But then David came along, and I couldn’t help but developing a crush on him.
I stood in the airport for what seemed like forever. Everytime someone came through the doors, I was 3 seconds away from leaving. Luckily I stood still. Probably cause my legs couldn’t move anyways. And there he was, as good looking as ever. My mother was with me, and he hugged her first, then he hugged me. Then we started making our way out to the car, and he made a comment about some kid with cool hair. I nodded and smiled. I lived about a 15 minute drive from the airport then, and I didn’t say a single word the whole trip. No, seriously. I didn’t know what to say. My mother maintained the conversation, and David was polite and friendly.
Back at the house we went to the guest house, which is where we would sleep (unless we didn’t get along of course, then I’d sleep in my own bed). I sat down a couple meters away from him and observed. At this point, I had started talking a bit though, don’t worry. We commented on the nice scenery, and my new curtains. Then he said “Oh! I bought you something!” Puzzled, I replied “you did?” He started looking through his bag, and pulled out – yes, you guessed it – a teddybear in a kilt. He then walked up to me with confident steps, and I stood up. He handed me the bear, and I said “Aww, thank you!” before he completely surprised me. After giving me the bear, he put his hands gently on my hips and kissed me.
I could’ve passed out. But he just smiled at me, as if it made perfect sense to do this. It certainly convinced me that he didn’t think I was hideous. I believe I blushed. A lot. Wobbly knees. Was the most perfect kiss ever then. Needless to say, we got along, and we both slept in the guest house.
It’s not easy living in different countries. There are certainly times where I’m dangerously close to giving everything up. We argue like any other normal couple, and it’s hard to solve these problems when we’re not face to face. When I’m having a bad day, it’s easy to blame everything on him, even though he’s generally the only one who can make it better. But even when I’m so angry I could’ve thrown my shoes at him, I love him. I fell in love with a Scottish guy I met in a cheesy online game, and I did not – at all! – see this coming. I didn’t particulary want this to happen either. We get to see each other 6-7 times a year, depending on work and school. I’m stuck at the University of Oslo until I finish my degree (at least another 2,5 years), and then we’ll see what our plans are. I don’t know if we will still be together then, but I know that I’m happy with him now.

…has been interesting. I baked buns. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Buuut inside of me, there’s a housewife, eager to shine. It’s true, stop laughing.

Aaas you can probably tell by the pictures: My kitchen isn’t big enough for my ambitions. David laughed when I said that. The second problem is that I only really craved one or two buns when I decided to make them. I’ve had two now. I made 21. But they turned out quite nice.
I’ve also come up with stuff that I need, and want. Every time I buy something I desperately need (like bookshelves), I come up with new things that I need. My birthday is miles away, and I’m really broke, but that doesn’t stop me window shopping:
